Generally, starting a restaurant requires over 10 million yen, but with Daikichi, you can become independent with a franchise fee starting from 1.5 million yen (*), making it possible to start a business even with limited funds. (Applicants who pass the interview will also be referred to the Japan Finance Corporation.) We support people who want to start their own business but have limited funds. In addition, even if you have no experience in the food and beverage industry, you will learn preparation, cooking, and operations for a total of three months at three successful training restaurants, making it ideal for those who want to become their own boss from scratch. (*) An additional 700,000 to 1 million yen is required for actual startup costs.
Over 70% of the owners have been in business for more than 10 years, and about 30% have been in business for more than 20 years. This is a remarkably high rate of business continuity for restaurants. Daikichi restaurants are also characterized by their size and location; each is a small shop of about 10 tsubo (approximately 33 square meters) with 20 seats, and many are located on the first floor facing prominent streets in residential areas. This allows for manageable business operations, and the owners carefully select locations with rental conditions suitable for community engagement. Furthermore, because the shops are small, expenses such as electricity and utilities are kept low, and operations can be handled by the owner plus one or two other people, thus reducing labor costs. The open kitchen layout allows for close interaction with customers, enabling direct feedback. This is the path to business success.
In typical franchise businesses, as monthly sales increase, royalties and franchise fees paid to headquarters also increase. Daikichi's system allows you to manage your business with peace of mind, as you only pay a fixed monthly store usage fee (in the case of the user system) and royalties regardless of sales, and any profits you make go directly to you. Daikichi's yakitori is not sourced from a central kitchen with frozen skewers; everything is prepared in-house. Because the owner does the preparation themselves, they can control the freshness of the ingredients and their own profits. Based on 40 years of experience, our menu structure, which eliminates waste in procurement and preparation, has earned us the support of many customers nationwide as a "neighborhood yakitori specialty shop." For three months, you will receive thorough instruction in "preparation," "grilling," "customer service," and "operations" at a thriving training store. Learn the atmosphere and daily ingenuity unique to a successful store and apply it to your own business.
